Amy Winehouse belgeselinde geçen ‘hiçbir zaman birbirine benzemez’ cümleciğidir bana ilk kez sokak ve caz arasındaki benzerliği düşündüren. Bir flanörün sokağı algılama hassasiyetinde olduğu gibi; caz da tınısı içerisinde gezen bir kulağı beklenmedik sürprizlere davet eder. Birinde enstrümanlar, diğerinde insanlar hiyerarşik olmayan bir akış içerisinde de olsalar, onların çeşitliliğe açılan her karşılaşması kendine özgü yeni bir enerjiye tekabül eder. ‘Birlikteliğin yalın gizemi’ der bu tür bir karşılaşmaya Barthes. Bu gizem, izleyeni uygarlık kodlarıyla evriltip illüzyon haline getiren mülayimleşmiş bir kalıpla değil; yola gelmez bir gerçeklikle yüz yüze getirir; uzun zamandır aranan şeyin bulunması gibidir bu, tıpkı Proust’un çaya batırdığı bisküvisinin kokusundan, çocukluğuna ve çocukluğunun geçtiği o yerlere ulaşmasında olduğu gibi..

“No time is like the other” from Amy Winehouse documentary is the first clause to make me think about the similarity between avenue and jazz. Just like a flaneur’s sensibility to sense the street, jazz invites an ear that wanders in tones to surprises. Even though one has instruments and other has people that are in a nonhierarchical flow, their each coincidence that opens to variety corresponds to a unique, new energy. Barthes says “bare mystery of togetherness” to this kind of coincidence. This mystery confronts audience with an undeniable reality; not with an obedient shape that distorts by evolving audience with civilization codes; this is just like finding something that has been tried to find for a long while, just like reaching to his childhood and places he spent his childhood with the smell of Proust’s biscuit steeped into tea.
